In Sanskrit, Dārava means ‘born of wood,’ and the name is a tribute to both the origin of furniture and the legacy of the craftsmen whose contributions are reflected in every piece we create.

India has a rich tradition of woodworking, craftsmanship, and design. Our core mission is to preserve the cultural heritage of Indian craftsmanship while creating pieces that tell a story, last a lifetime, and can be passed down to future generations.

We are committed to producing sustainable furniture that combines centuries-old craft with the finest locally sourced materials. In an age when much is mass-produced, the key to sustainable living lies in investing in pieces that stand the test of time and are produced on demand.

At Dārava, we believe strongly in the value of collective creation. Our collections range from re-editions of mid-century classics to contemporary pieces created in collaboration with acclaimed designers.

We work closely with artisans and craftspeople to create collections that honour India's craft traditions, and ensure that these traditions do not merely survive but continue to inspire, evolve, and empower generations to come.
